The Birth of
Wonderhood

My name is Yasmine, and I have lived in this community my whole life. I have worked with children and families in early education for years, including at Upper Beaconsfield Kindergarten and Upper Beaconsfield Early Learning Centre. My passion for nature-based learning led me to create and run a farm-based playgroup in Harkaway, where I witnessed firsthand the incredible impact of outdoor exploration on children's development.

Wonderhood was born from a deep love for early childhood education and the transformative power of nature. With a background in childcare, playgroup facilitation, and a passion for hands-on learning, I saw firsthand how children thrive when given the space to explore, create, and connect with the natural world.

My journey began with running outdoor playgroups where children-built fairy gardens, crafted nature-inspired art, and nurtured animals. Seeing their joy, curiosity, and confidence grow in these environments sparked a vision, what if there was a nature-based playgroup experience that blended structured learning with the magic of outdoor discovery?

Wonderhood is that vision brought to life. A place where children are encouraged to think, explore, and wonder—to ask big questions, engage their senses, and develop a lifelong connection with nature!

It is more than just a playgroup—it’s a journey of wonder, where children’s natural curiosity is encouraged, their imaginations are sparked, and their connection to the world around them grows with every session.

Our mission is to nurture young minds through nature-inspired play, fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence in a supportive and engaging environment.

Our vision is to create a world where childhood is filled with wonder—where learning is hands-on, curiosity is celebrated, and nature becomes the ultimate classroom.
